🫙 Salt Jar Refillery is Salt Spring Island’s first zero-waste grocery stop, offering a fresh and thoughtful way to shop sustainably. Operated through the Local Salt Food Hub at The Root (189 Beddis Road), Salt Jar provides plastic-free groceries in returnable glass mason jars or compostable packaging—everything from dry goods and produce to cleaning supplies and condiments.

🌾 Founded by Caitlyn Pal, Salt Jar is more than a refillery—it’s a vibrant community experience. On pickup days, locals gather to swap recipes, share food finds, and reconnect with the people behind their ingredients. As Caitlyn puts it, “We are humans, we love to connect around food; it's essential.”
